12v Cummins Won't crank? Starter Replacement!
This video save my butt and a tow bill.
What main jet and pilot jet please?
Unfortunately this motorcycle was stolen from me and I don't have that carb or information anymore. I'm looking to get another TTR soon, it was a super fun pit bike.
Thank you!!!
Do you have a full video of the Cube engine removal. Mine has 298,000 (approximately) miles on it and today it blew up, lol. Something broke as oil came pouring out of it and lost all power. It has had 3 transmissions already put in it. I’m looking at trying to source either a complete with trans or maybe even a swap for something else. Thanks
I don't, it was a fairly labor intensive job with lots of parts to remove and install. It would have been a very boring video to cover it all.
Boring yes, long even more yes. lol I am just trying to decide if this is something I want to try to tackle myself. Been also looking to see if there has been any kinda engine swaps to get rid of the CVT. I do appreciate your response.
Does anyone know what year this truck is as mines is a 2002 gmc
What size jets work best? My VM24 came with 30 pilot and 120 main installed, and I have all the sizes above and below both, but can’t find the right combo. Mostly the problem is instant bogging and frequently stalling as soon as you crack the throttle.
Different bikes will like different jet combinations due to altitude and other mods such as exhaust and airbox configurations. The "clip height" is also an important adjustment with this style carb as well. It controls how "quickly" the main jet fueling comes on compared to the idle circuit. There is no accelerator pump on this carb, which 4 strokes like. You may have to jet on the rich side to compensate for this design if you want off idle snappyness
@@JBAutomotive794 thanks for the quick reply! Yeah I have tried almost all the jets and every clip height with no luck. Thanks again!
@f308gtb1977 make sure your spark plug isn't fouled and gapped correctly. Also make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks.
@@JBAutomotive794 the VM I got doesn’t have a vacuum port, and the plug looks perfect according to all the charts. I did like you said today and jetted it almost as rich as I have jets for, and raised the needle to the next-to-highest setting, it helped a fair bit with the bogging, not perfect but less severe, only now it idles WAY high and can’t be adjusted lower. So that’s probably why it bogs less. But it’s a little more rideable so … if it’s the best I can get then I’ll live with it. Thanks again!
Does the same kit work for the other end of the cable at the actual gear shifter? This kit seems too big.
That is a different type of bushing I believe
Thank you James for you just assured me l didn’t have to replace my hold shift cable on my 2004 Cadillac Escalade.you the man,PS WORKING MAN HAVE A BEAUTIFUL AND BLESSED HOLIDAY WEEKEN
Gracias
Holy shit...a video on RUclips without an ad...wtf
Thanks. Helped me out with the vacuum port. Cut off a small piece of hose and filled it with silicone then stuck it on. Works perfectly
Your full of shit
What year is it?
I’m at 3 min in and I’m going to take a guess fuel purge valve. Could be wrong but it’s likely. Anxious to see if correct or not.
idle it up lol
😂 'Promosm'
…..sounds like an old John Deere chugging along! 🤪
That will buff out
How did you manage to remove the rear cassette bolt without removing the engine??
It's a struggle but can be done.
What kind of carb did you have before (the one in hand) it would help me a lot I have the same one now but don’t know the name, thank you
It was the factory Yamaha carb
This channel gave me a idea, I have 2011 traverse and it’s doing the same problem, now I’m gonna try what you did , thanks for sharing this video…
How did things work out?
Love the sound of the Mustang.
When i tell you you have made my Job alot easier ❤thank you thank you thank you
That's just what mine is doing too
What jetting are you running? I purchased a vm24 off of Amazon specifically for a ttr125. It’s running a 105 main jet and I’m getting bogging at about 3/4 to full throttle. I’m trying different jets now but the jet kit I got doesn’t fit this Chinese carb.
This guy would make a great automotive teacher 💯💯..
I see others put it on backwards. This is the right way.
Sounds really good. Kinda sounds like a cummins diesel too lol
It sounds wayyy better in person. The phone mic picks up all kinds of noise that the accessories on the front of the motor are making along with the hollow fuel pump pushrod. In person those noises are hardly audible.
@@JBAutomotive794 Yeah I feel you, I know how it is. It’s hard for camera to pick up practically anything the way we hear them in person lol. Does it chop good?
@@clarksgarageofbadhabits6803 yeah it's got a pretty decent chop but still makes enough vacuum to run power brakes.
@@JBAutomotive794 Awesome. There’s like 2 videos on youtube total including yours. I’d like to run it in my Vortec 350 for my 3rd gen trans am.
@@clarksgarageofbadhabits6803 it's a great hot street cam.
Nice! I have a question. Did you replace the cats or did you just clean out the clogs?
They were replaced. they were unclogged just to make sure engine could run before spending all the money for the cats
Understood. Thanks for the reply👍@@JBAutomotive794
I guess I should have also asked what brand you use? @JBAutomotive794
@@luistapia9608 it's been a while but I believe we used walker brand
I got the same bike with the same carb and I just did a top end rebuild and it wont start, did you have to change the jets??
I did not have to change the jetting. Simple needle clip adjustment and the pilot screw and it was in great shape. This bike was actually stolen from me, or else I would make a follow up video.
@@JBAutomotive794 oh, that sucks, sorry
Appreciate this Guy, he's hilarious and informative. Thank you
Does this cam need a bronze or melonized distributor gear
Yes. We used a mellonized gear.
If the engine is leaking like in this video at the head, is a coolant leak expected next, & if so, would it put coolant into the cylinder at that point?
How has this cam been for you so far? You notice any problems?
It's been a great camshaft. We actually started out with a flat tappet unit and followed all the directions to a Tee and it still ate a lobe. We have had no issues with this roller cam setup since.
@JBAutomotive794 Wow! Those flat tappet setups sure are not as good as they once were. The one I have in my 355 SBC has been great to me, but I would not get a new set today. Thanks for confirming! This seems like a decent cam for a budget
@@StrawIsEpic quality as well as oil technology has definitely not been good to the Flat tappet cam market
Did that paper gasket pop right out?
The large O ring is usually the culprit.
@@JBAutomotive794 can I leave the paper gasket then? Lol
@@Tyler.Schafer if you have it apart I would definitely replace it
Nice. I think mechanics are smarter than engineers these days because they have to diagnose and fix their crappy designs. :)
I have a 2010 AWD LT that I swapped both catalytic converter’s and O2 sensors and it gives me the 02 codes when I put cheap gas on it. I also own a 2012 LTZ front wheel drive that I have to swap out the Purge valves about every 2 years cause Sometimes the Purge Valve will cause “NO Start!”…. weird designs. I yearly Clean the oil that coughs up your the intake cause of its design on both and swap out EGR valves & Solenoids.
Nice catch! I just did timing chains on a 2009 that I bought not running. Got done, fired it up, ran great. Five minutes later, lost power, died. Very hard starting, sometimes ran slowly. Not developing high fuel pressure. Swapped out high pressure pump, no change. Checked a whole LOT of other things, no luck. Started searching the net for info, found your video. Smacked myself in the head (twice) for not thinking of plugged exhaust. Pulled the front O2, it started and ran just fine. Now to pull all the cats and inspect. Thanks for the inspiration!
He lookin at you with that Irish stare “ put me the fook douwn yhuuu fookin bastad ehhh”
hey pal, has it fallen off yet? Been 6 years since you posted this. I need to get this (i actually just got a 14055 to try out first, but wouldn't mind having the 14057 for backup)
I've used it on several vehicles with success.
Good video im having the same problem it does smell smokes from the engine when trying to turn over, but won’t turn over
Do a compression test to verify that timing chain hasn't jumped, which will be not good.
I have the same problem but no spark
Excellent. My 2006 Envoy just laid down with this issue - gear shift column in P and dashboard in N. Great. Hope this fixes the issue. Should prolly send Oreos…
When I turn on my 89 Chevy Silverado it starts pissing out oil I wonder if it’s a nut that came off because I see a hole or if it’s your situation
You get it sorted out?
I did it was the gasket but now I have another issue lol I helped this lady with a jump and I’m pretty sure I put the cables on correctly long story short her car never turned on didn’t even have power to crank I gave her a ride back to work as I was leaving my truck smelled a bit like burned and started running weak and shaky
@@SKIESTHELIMIT91. oof, hope everything works out okay.
🤦 *promo sm*
Who would have thought this was the problem ? Props on you for this very unusual fix .Seems I,v finally discovered ,thru you , my oil leak too. Thanks a bunch .
Thank you for your knowledge much respect !!!!!!
Hey how good is this compare to the nibbi carb ?
how tall are you?

Hi i have OXYACETYLENE torch.. i tried this method it didnot work. what is the PSI you kept for oxygen and acetylene . I used this one Lincoln Electric Port-A-Torch Kit. becasusee it is portable does that mean that it doesnt have enough power. or my oxysgen and acetylene psi setting is wrong. Also did you used cutting torch ?.
A port a torch kit with full bottles should be able to do this easily. Definitely look into your your regulator settings
Will 5 and 10 for acetylene and oxygen will do or 10 and 30?
@@sivucit depends on what tip you are running and somewhat what torch body, but mostly what tip.
